Update Wednesday, July 1st, 2;00pm

lINDA SLEPT WELL LAST NIGHT, EVEN THOUGH HER WOUND VAC KEPT SOUNDING ALARMS SUCH AS," LOW PRESSURE" AND "BLOCKED TUBE" ETC.. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE HOME HEALTH NURSE WHO IS ,RIGHT NOW, AN HOUR LATE FOR HER APPOINTMENT TO CHANGE THE VAC AND ATTEND TO LINDA. WE HOPE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUES WITH THE VAC IN OUR MEETING WITH THE NURSE. LINDA IS STRONGER WITH THE ADDITIONAL SLEEP, BUT, STILL REQUIRES HELP GETTING UP AND WITH EVERY DAY HUMAN EVENTS. lOTS OF MEDS AND A MED SCHEDULE THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO KEEP FOR A LONG TIME. IT IS BETTER HERE, LINDA'S DAD COULD NOT BE MORE GRACIOUS, AND WE STILL LOOK FORWARD TO BEING IN OUR HOME. rASCAL AND CHICO WILL NOT RECOGNIZE US AND THE LAWN IS PROBABLY BROWN AS mCKINLEYVILLE HAS HAD A "HEAT"WAVE WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE SEVENTIES!! 3. That is right, John...in Humboldt County that is considered a heat wave. And it is so lovely too. I have not had much chance to enjoy it this week as I have spent two days in jury selection. Oh my, God! I am truly being bored to death. I love to do my civic duty but there are 52 potential jurors and the defense attorney only made it through the first 8 in the jury box in 2 and 1/2 hours. I am not one who can handle sitting for any length of time and since they determined on day one that I pose a threat to mankind by wanting to have knitting needles in the court room I am climbing the walls. Here is a little known fact conveyed to me by an officer of the law. He told me that a bullet proof vest will stop a bullet but not a knitting needle. Today, I smuggled in a PLASTIC crochet needle. No, I don't know how to crochet but I certainly had plenty of time to learn today. The way things are moving, I should master the craft and have a blanket done by the time I am either excused or picked for the jury. I go back on Monday at 8:45 a.m. On that note, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Linda, keep resting and healing. Hope to see you home where you belong soon. Kathy
