- I am a 23 year survivor of Hodgkins Disease, Stage IIA. I have a a series of side effects from the radiation treatment, including pleural effusions, pericarditis, valve disease, and cardiac artery disease. This surgery is to correct the right tricuspid valve which does not close correctly, causing a lot of regurgitation and leaking. I will be in the hospital for 7 to 10 days before I can return home.
